«Dasto, 25 ans de peinture et de création»

«Dasto, 25 Years of painting and creation » by Myriam CORNUT

dasto-book.jpgDasto was born in France in 1940 and has lived in Switzerland since 1970.

He was trained as a chemical engineer, but left that profession 25 years ago to concentrate all his efforts on his new passion - Painting.

To celebrate his 25 years as a painter and creator, he has gathered together and published his complete works in one impressive volume, enclosed in a magnificent hand-crafted protective case.

Dasto is a modern painter who has followed the great European tradition.

“One must always respect what the Old Masters discovered and initiated. I tried to select what I felt was their best to use as a foundation, which then encouraged me to venture into unknown but innovative territory.”

Dasto

“… Dasto’s work reflects the essential elements of life. The lines, the combinations of colours, the contrasts of the masses — these are for him the vocabulary of a language which permits him to work without showing favour to either life’s joys or its sorrows.”
